Jo’burg will be willing to step in if necessary. It was agreed that SIOP Africa group should develop objective criteria to help in selecting future potential Africa conference host countries. Members were reminded about training opportunities available on the POINTE website. Members were also informed about scholarships available in Egypt for various training programmes for pharmacists, nurses and doctors. Regarding advocacy, SIOP Africa intends engaging first ladies to help bring childhood cancer, and the numerous challenges faced in Africa, to the notice of our governments.
