Honoring Tim Eden with the 2020 SIOP Lifetime Achievement Award
Rachel Hollis has been honored with Nursing Lifetime Achievement Award from SIOP. Rachel Hollis is the Honorary Nurse Adviser Children’s Cancer in the Children’s Hospital at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust in the UK. She has more than thirty years working in paediatric oncology and haematology in Leeds, and has been involved in developing services for children and young people with cancer at the local and national level. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Nursing.
Rachel is a long standing nurse member of SIOP, having served on both the Nursing Committee, and the Scientific Committee. She is a former Chair of the PODC Nursing Working Group, and was one of the co-authors of the baseline standards for paediatric oncology nursing care in low and middle-income countries. Rachel works alongside international nursing colleagues, to ensure that nursing is integrated into the WHO Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer.
SIOP is pleased to announce its first patron, HRH Princess Dina Mired of Jordan.
HRH Princess Dina Mired of Jordan is a mother of a cancer survivor and a well-known and respected advocate for Cancer Control and Non-Communicable Diseases.
She is SIOP’s first Patron and in this role, will be working with the Board to support us in our advocacy work and delivery of our new strategy.
