Dear Members of the SIOP Women Leaders Network,
Today, March 8, the International Women’s Day, we celebrate YOU! We celebrate the remarkable contributions of women in pediatric oncology. Across all professions, women play an indispensable role in advancing childhood cancer care and cure. Their dedication, expertise, and compassion not only drive groundbreaking research and innovative treatments but also provide hope and healing to children and families facing the unimaginable. Women in pediatric oncology embody resilience and excellence, often balancing the demands of a challenging field. From the laboratory to the bedside, the impact of women in pediatric oncology is profound and far-reaching.
On March 8, we honor extraordinary women who are changing lives and shaping the future of pediatric cancer care. We are happy to share the first profile in the 2025 Edition of the SIOP Almanac of Women Leaders in Pediatric Oncology: Dr. Patricia Morris Jones (UK), a pioneering paediatric oncologist. More profiles will be released in the coming weeks.
You may also enjoy learning about Dr. Audrey Evans (US). A new feature movie portraying Dr. Evans is out in the theatres worldwide:
