The SIOP Supportive Care Network has launched a call for self-nominations for key leadership roles within its Steering Group (SG), with terms beginning in October 2026.

Members are invited to apply for the following positions:

  • Steering Group Member (High-Income Countries – 2 positions)
  • Co-Chair (High-Income Countries – 1 position)

These roles offer an opportunity to help shape the global supportive care agenda in childhood cancer and contribute to the strategic direction of one of SIOP’s core networks.

Who can apply

Applicants must:

  • Have paid their SIOP membership fees for 2026
  • Be a member of the SIOP Supportive Care Network

Candidates are asked to submit a CV and a motivation letter (maximum two pages), outlining proposed activities for the network over the next 12–24 months and indicating which initiatives they would be willing to lead.

About the roles

The Steering Group plays a central role in advancing supportive care in paediatric oncology worldwide. Its responsibilities include:

  • Raising global awareness of supportive care challenges in childhood cancer
  • Collaborating with research groups to strengthen guidelines and recommendations
  • Enhancing supportive care contributions to the SIOP Annual Congress
  • Building partnerships with international organisations

Steering Group members also support the Co-Chairs in decision-making, project oversight, and risk management, while acting as regional liaisons and subject matter experts. Active engagement across all network activities is expected.

Following the nomination period, candidates will be shortlisted by the Steering Group and presented to Supportive Care Network members for voting.

SIOP encourages members who currently hold other leadership roles within the organisation to complete their terms before applying.
