Maria Olsson is a clinical researcher. The clinical practise is as a clinical nurse specialist at the Follow-up clinic for adult childhood cancer survivors at Sahlgrenska University hospital, Gothenburg, Sweden. She has long time of clinical experience in a pediatric and adolescent oncology unit. Research is conducted part-time at Sahlgrenska academy, clinical sciences, department of oncology. She completed an MSc Paediatric nursing, followed Paediatric oncology nursing, at Gothenburg University. She also holds an MSc in Psychology and a PGC in Adolescent and young adult (AYA) Oncology from Coventry University. In 2018 she graduated with a PhD at Institute of clinical sciences, department of pediatric at University of Gothenburg. The theses were a qualitative and quantitative study on AYA cancer survivors’ needs and possible complications post cancer treatment, with focus on body image and sexual health. Maria takes an interest in the situation for the AYA patient during treatment and the AYA cancer survivors’ needs post treatment.
