The SIOPE Nursing Working Group is inviting applications for four positions on its Steering Committee, offering an exciting opportunity for nurses to help shape the future of paediatric oncology nursing across Europe.

The vacancies include one position following the resignation of a Steering Committee member, one position following the completion of a committee member’s term of office, and two newly created roles as part of the Committee’s expansion. The additional positions reflect the revised Terms of Reference, approved in February 2026, and recognise the growing scope and impact of nursing activities within SIOPE.

The Steering Committee is particularly keen to strengthen representation from across Europe, ensuring that a diverse range of national perspectives, healthcare systems, and professional experiences are reflected in its work.

Who can apply?

To apply, please email siopenwg@gmail.com with:

  • short letter of motivation outlining why you would like to join the Steering Committee;
  • brief summary of your experience in paediatric oncology nursing.

Applications will be accepted until 9 September.

Applications are welcomed from nurse members of the SIOPE Nursing Working Group who are committed to actively contributing to the Steering Committee’s activities.

Nurses who are not yet members of the Working Group are also encouraged to apply, provided they submit an application for Working Group membership at the same time as their Steering Committee application.

How to apply

Applicants should submit:

  • A short letter of motivation explaining why they would like to join the Steering Committee.
  • A brief summary of their experience in paediatric oncology nursing.

The application deadline is 9 September 2026.

Applications will be reviewed by the current Steering Committee on 10 September, with applicants notified of the outcome on 11 September. In accordance with the Committee’s Terms of Reference, shortlisted candidates will then be presented to members of the SIOPE Nursing Working Group for election. Online voting will take place over a 72-hour period beginning on 14 September, with the election results announced on 17 September.

Serving on the Steering Committee offers the opportunity to collaborate with an international network of nursing professionals, share expertise, contribute new ideas, and help guide the future direction of paediatric oncology nursing within SIOPE.

The SIOPE Nursing Working Group encourages colleagues from across Europe to apply and welcomes applications from nurses who are passionate about advancing paediatric oncology nursing through leadership and collaboration.
