SIOP North America (SIOP-NA) is pleased to open the Call for Self‑Nominations for the position of Treasurer. This leadership role is central to SIOP North America’s financial stewardship and strategic development, and we invite motivated members to apply.

Sandra Luna-Fineman stepped down as SIOP-NA Treasurer in January, 2026 and we are holding elections to fill the vacancy.  The Executive Committee appointed Lauri Linder (Chair of the SIOP-NA Nursing Committee) as interim Treasurer until the newly elected Treasurer takes office in September, 2026 at the annual SIOP Congress.

The deadline for self-nomination is April 30, 2026, 1pm CEST/Geneva. Shortlisting will take place in May 2026, followed by online voting in June 2026.

About the Role:

The Treasurer plays a key part in ensuring the financial health and operational strength of SIOP North America.

Key responsibilities include:

  • The SIOP-NA Treasurer manages accounting of funds from industry and philanthropic sources to further the goals and mission of SIOP-NA, provides stewardship for funds that have been raised, and makes recommendations to prioritize the use of funds in conjunction with the SIOP-NA Board of Directors.
  • The Treasurer serves on the SIOP-NA Board of Directors and is a member of the SIOP-NA Executive Committee.
  • The term is for three-years with an option to run for election for a second term.

Eligibility & Election Process

  • Candidates must be SIOP‑NA members in good standing with membership fees for 2026 paid.

  • Self‑nominations are welcomed.
  • Following the end of nominations period, the SIOP‑NA Board of Directors will shortlist up to three candidates who will be put forward to a vote
  • Any SIOP-NA member in good standing, with membership fees for 2026 paid, may vote in the elections. The elections will be decided by a simple majority of votes cast. The SIOP Secretariat administers the vote.

Term of Office

  • Term is 3 years long, beginning in Oct 2026
  • The Treasurer may serve one additional term, if re‑elected.
