On September 8, we celebrate International Pediatric Oncology Nurses Day – a chance to honor the pediatric oncology nurses around the world whose care, compassion, and dedication make such a profound difference for children and families affected by cancer.
This year’s theme is “My Why,” and we invite every pediatric oncology nurse in our community to share the personal story behind their calling.
Here’s how to take part:

If you don’t already have a Canva account, you’ll be asked to sign up. This is free – you do NOT need to pay or upgrade to a paid plan.
Once the template opens, look for the photo frame on the page. Click the “Upload” button (located on the left side of the screen) and choose a photo of yourself in your uniform from your computer or phone.
Drag and drop your photo into the frame. It will automatically resize to fit.
Once you’re happy with how it looks, click “Download” (located in the top right corner) and save the frame you personalized to your device.
Post your photo on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, or X. Finish the sentence in your caption: “I chose pediatric oncology nursing because…” Then include these hashtags in your post: #WhyIChosePedsOnc #PedsOncNursesDay #HopeStartsWithNurses
