In this educational webinar, you will learn about the current global standards and innovations in the treatment of neuroblastoma. Experts will highlight how these treatment strategies can be adapted and applied in low- and middle-income country settings, with practical insights from the SIOP Asia. The session will also feature country-specific experiences and challenges, fostering regional collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Prof. Alice Lin-Tsing Yu is an internationally recognized pediatric oncologist and immunologist, currently affiliated with Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan. Her groundbreaking work in neuroblastoma immunotherapy, particularly the development of anti-GD2 antibody therapy, has transformed the global standard of care. Prof. Yu has been actively engaged in international research collaborations and continues to support capacity-building initiatives across Asia through her involvement with SIOP.
Prof. Samart Pakakasama is a pediatric hematologist-oncologist and the Deputy Dean of Education at Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand. He is also the current Chair of the Thai Pediatric Oncology Group (ThaiPOG). He has contributed significantly to pediatric leukemia research and serves as a key member of various international collaborative groups. He is actively involved in capacity building in low- and middle-income countries through his work with SIOP Asia and regional pediatric oncology networks.
Dr. Chalinee Monsereenusorn is an Associate Prof. of Pediatrics and Pediatric Oncology Faculty Member at Phramongkutklao Hospital and College of Medicine, Thailand, where she leads the Pediatric Solid Tumor and AYA Cancer Program. She actively contributes to regional and global oncology initiatives, including ThaiPOG, TSH, ACCA, St. Jude Global, and SIOP, where she currently serves as the SIOP Asia Ambassador. Dr. Chalinee has led the Southeast Asia Osteosarcoma Working Group since 2017 and is involved in international collaborations such as ProFILE, ARIA, and GBD studies. She received the Young SIOP Rising Star Award 2023 for her commitment to advancing pediatric oncology through research, education, and global collaboration.
Dr. Pamela Fajardo is a SIOP Asia Ambassador and pediatric hematologist-oncologist based in the Philippines. She is actively involved in pediatric cancer care, capacity building, and regional collaboration in Southeast Asia. Dr. Fajardo plays a key role in SIOP Asia initiatives, advocating for improved access to treatment and multidisciplinary care in low- and middle-income countries.
