September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month – a special time each year to shine a light on the profound impact cancer has on children, adolescents, and their families around the world.

In 2025, our campaign will focus on tackling the key challenges faced by childhood cancer communities everywhere.

Our Main Goals:

  • Raise global awareness about the challenges faced by childhood cancer patients, caregivers, survivors, and healthcare professionals.
  • Mobilize the international community – including governments, NGOs, healthcare professionals, and the public – to participate in ICCD 2026.
  • Promote the gold ribbon as a lasting, global symbol of childhood cancer awareness.

By taking part, you stand alongside children, adolescents, survivors, and their families – showing solidarity, speaking out, and inspiring hope. There are many ways to get involved this September to demonstrate your commitment and make a difference.

Showcasing Challenges & Inspiring Action

This year, we are building on the insights gathered in 2024 and turning them into solutions. We will highlight regional initiatives and collaborations that are breaking down barriers and reducing inequalities in childhood cancer care and research.

Through our global call to action, communities have shared their experiences and perspectives via digital postcards describing the obstacles they face. This Gold September, we are proud to showcase the results of our 2025 campaign.

You can download our Social Media Toolkit and customizable graphic templates [here]. Feel free to add your organization’s logo and translate the materials to reach your community – just remember to follow the campaign calendar so that together, we can speak with one powerful, united voice.

Light It Up – Gold Monuments

For many years, organizations around the globe have helped raise awareness of childhood cancer through the “Light It Up Gold!” campaign – illuminating iconic buildings and monuments in gold during September.

This year, we’re keeping the tradition alive and calling on building managers, institutions, monument owners, and local authorities to light their façades in gold throughout the month. If a lighting system isn’t available, we encourage displaying a gold ribbon prominently on the front of buildings or offices as a powerful symbol of solidarity.

We are deeply grateful for your ongoing support and dedication to raising awareness for childhood cancer. Your participation in Gold September 2025 is key to our mission of advocating for children, adolescents, survivors, and their families worldwide.

Together, we can inspire hope, break down barriers, and make a lasting difference.

If you have questions or need any assistance, please feel free to contact us. Let’s unite our voices and efforts this September to shine a light – in gold – for every child and family affected by cancer.Together we can save more lives!
