To mark International Childhood Cancer Day 2026, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), in collaboration with partners, will host a webinar titled “From Evidence to Action: Regional Tools to Improve Childhood Cancer Care” on Tuesday, 17 February 2026, at 11:00 a.m. (Washington, D.C. time / EST).
This webinar will present the PAHO Regional Technical Package for Childhood Cancer, a comprehensive set of tools designed to support countries in strengthening childhood cancer care systems across the region. The session will highlight how evidence-based, regionally adapted approaches can be translated into concrete action at national and local levels.
Participants will hear country experiences and practical examples in key priority areas, including:
-
Access to essential childhood cancer medicines
-
Haematopoietic stem cell transplantation
-
Survivorship care
-
Psychosocial support for children and families
The event will be particularly relevant for paediatric oncologists, nurses, allied health professionals, researchers, policy-makers, and advocates involved in childhood cancer care, planning, and implementation.
By showcasing real-world applications of the PAHO Technical Package, the webinar aims to foster knowledge exchange, encourage collaboration, and support ongoing efforts to improve equitable access to quality childhood cancer services.
