The International Pediatric Oncology Guidelines in Supportive Care (iPOG) Network has announced its next in-person workshop, Performing Meta-Analysis in R, taking place November 19, 2026 (1:30–5:00 PM) alongside the POGO Annual Symposium at the Hamilton Convention Centre, Hamilton, ON, Canada. Co-led by Dr. Lillian Sung (SickKids, Toronto) and Dr. Bob Phillips (Leeds Children’s Hospital / University of York), the workshop will introduce clinicians and guideline methodologists to meta-analysis using R, a free, open-source statistical software. No prior R experience is required — participants only need to bring a laptop with R version 4.6.1 pre-installed (download R). Registration is open now, with limited spaces available — register here.

The Network has also released the recording of its July webinar, One Size Does Not Fit All: Implementing Fertility Preservation Guidelines Across Atlantic Canada, presented by Dr. Meghan Pike (IWK Health / Dalhousie University) and Ms. Carol Digout (APPHON). The session detailed a multi-province initiative to implement evidence-based fertility preservation guidance for children, adolescents, and young adults with cancer, showing measurable improvements in provider discussion rates following a coordinated, locally-adapted implementation strategy.
