The International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP) and the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology (ASPHO) invite you to a joint webinar on how health systems and policy research can help reduce global inequities in childhood cancer.
Childhood cancer survival rates differ sharply around the world. More than 80% of children with cancer survive in high-income countries, but far fewer do in low- and middle-income countries. These differences are shaped not only by medicine, but also by how health systems are organised, financed and governed.
In this webinar, two leading experts from the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) and the University of Toronto will look at how health systems and policy research (HSPR) can help close this gap.
Learning objectives
- Understand global disparities in childhood cancer outcomes and the sociopolitical factors behind them
- Understand the role of health systems and policy research in reducing these disparities
- Discuss opportunities for partnered HSPR to advance the science of global oncology
