We are pleased to announce an upcoming joint webinar hosted by SIOP and the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology (ASPHO) on one of the most rapidly evolving areas in medicine: Clinical AI for Global Pediatric Oncology.
📆 6 August 2026
⏰ 16:00 PM Zurich
About the Session
Artificial intelligence is reshaping clinical care, research, and health systems worldwide. This webinar will explore how AI can be responsibly and effectively applied to improve outcomes for children with cancer across diverse resource settings.
Participants will learn to:
- Identify current and near‑term clinical AI applications relevant to pediatric oncology
- Explain how AI tools can enhance research workflows—from data curation and prediction modeling to translational discovery
- Outline practical skills clinicians can develop to evaluate, deploy, and contribute to AI tools in their own practice environments
This session is designed for clinicians, researchers, data scientists, program leaders, and global health partners interested in the future of AI‑enabled pediatric cancer care.
Speaker: Mark Zobeck, MD, MPH
Assistant Professor, Division of Pediatric Hematology‑Oncology Baylor College of Medicine & Texas Children’s Hospital
Dr Mark Zobeck leads the Clinical Informatics and Data Science Group within the Epidemiology and Population Sciences Program at Texas Children’s Hospital. His work focuses on building AI‑enabled research infrastructure to accelerate progress toward cures for childhood cancers.
His research integrates biostatistics, machine learning, and causal inference to advance prognosis prediction and biomarker discovery, with active projects in rhabdomyosarcoma risk stratification and cardiotoxicity prediction. His work has been supported by the NIH, ASCO, and multiple childhood cancer foundations.
Dr Zobeck also serves as Clinical Lead for the Monitoring & Evaluation Team of the Texas Children’s Global HOPE program, partnering with national governments in seven sub‑Saharan African countries to strengthen pediatric oncology and hematology care.
Why Attend
This webinar offers a practical, evidence‑based introduction to clinical AI tailored specifically to pediatric oncology. Attendees will gain insights into emerging tools, real‑world applications, and the skills needed to engage with AI responsibly and effectively in global settings.
