Dear SIOP Members,
We are excited to announce the launch of DiSPLeN – the Disease-Specific Portal for Learning & Networking, a new initiative by the SIOP Global Health Network (GHN). This platform aims to bridge gaps in childhood cancer care, especially in low-resource settings, by providing focused learning opportunities and fostering collaboration among professionals worldwide.
About DiSPLeN:
The DiSPLeN initiative was developed in response to strong demand for disease-specific learning, as identified in recent surveys. The platform will offer valuable sessions on various aspects of childhood cancer care, with a focus on clinical scenarios, new treatment approaches, and survivorship surveillance. It will be a vital resource for professionals in low-resource settings, providing guidance on treatment guidelines, diagnostics, and referral pathways.
Why DiSPLeN?
The initiative will provide an opportunity for SIOP members to learn from leading experts, engage in case-based discussions, and gain insights into treatment modalities for childhood cancers, with a special focus on the WHO Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer’s Six Indexed Cancers.
Through DiSPLeN, we aim to enhance SIOP membership engagement, support professional development for GHN members, and contribute to ongoing global efforts in childhood cancer care.
What’s Next?
Following the pilot phase, we will evaluate participation and feedback to shape future activities. Our vision is to expand DiSPLeN globally, with content in multiple languages (Spanish, French, Russian, and Chinese) to broaden our reach and foster cross-border collaboration.
We hope you will join us for the first DiSPLeN Webinar.
