In this educational webinar, you will learn more about nutritional challenges in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia, including both undernutrition and overnutrition. Changes in anthropometrics and body composition in children with ALL during treatment will be addressed, as well as nutritional assessment methods.

In addition, the association between BMI during treatment and outcomes among survivors will be discussed.

Speakers:

1. Kunanya Suwannaying MD

Dr. Kunanya Suwannaying completed her MD and pediatric training at Khon Kaen University in Thailand. She then undertook a pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at Khon Kaen University, Thailand, and a research fellowship at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. She is currently working as an assistant professor in pediatric hemato-oncology at Khon Kaen University in Thailand and appointed as a postdoctoral research associate in leukemia and cancer survivorship at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

2. Dr. Inaba

Dr. Hiroto Inaba completed his MD, PhD at Mie University School of Medicine in Japan. He did an internship at the United States Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, Japan, and received pediatric training at Mie University and at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan. He then undertook a pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Currently, he is a Member (Professor) and an Interim Director in the Leukemia/Lymphoma Division of the Department of Oncology at St. Jude, where he is engaged in the care of and research on patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
