SIOP is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of Prof. Dr. Rejin Kebudi, who has been awarded the Turkish Association for Cancer Research and Control Service Award in recognition of her exceptional contributions to paediatric oncology.
Presented annually by the Turkish Association for Cancer Research and Control, this prestigious award honours individuals who have demonstrated remarkable dedication, leadership, and impact in cancer care, research, and advocacy. Established in 1954, the award has recognised distinguished national and international figures for over seven decades. TACRC, founded in 1947, is a longstanding member of both the Union for International Cancer Control and the European Cancer Leagues.
Prof. Kebudi will receive the award during the National Cancer Week events in Ankara on April 3, 2026, where she has also been invited to deliver the honorary lecture. Her presentation, titled “Advances in Pediatric Oncology in Türkiye and Globally: Vision for the Future: Increasing Survival Rates”, will highlight progress in the field and outline future priorities for improving outcomes for children and adolescents with cancer worldwide.
The honorary lecture is named after Hamdi Suat Aknar, a pioneering figure in pathology and oncology, reflecting the legacy of innovation and leadership that the award seeks to recognise.
I thank the current President (Prof Şuayıp Yalçın), past president (Prof Tezer Kutluk), board members (Prof Burça Aydın and other members) for considering and electing me for this prestigious award.
