13–17 April 2026 | Lagos Marriott Hotel Ikeja

Registration is now open for the 16th Biennial SIOP Africa Congress, taking place in Lagos, Nigeria, from 13–17 April 2026. This landmark gathering will bring together paediatric oncology professionals, researchers, nurses, advocates, survivors, and partners from across Africa and around the world.

Under the theme “Building collaborative networks for paediatric oncology across Africa,” SIOP Africa 2026 will focus on what truly drives progress: partnership across disciplines, institutions, and borders, and African-led solutions for African children.

SIOP Africa President Elect, Prof. Jennifer Geel, emphasises that collaboration is central to achieving the shared vision of “no child should die of cancer; cure for more, care for all.” The Congress will highlight how collective action, innovation, and shared learning can strengthen childhood cancer care systems across the continent.

Hosted in one of Africa’s most dynamic cities, Lagos offers a fitting backdrop for this year’s Congress. Bold, energetic, and constantly evolving, the city reflects the ambition and resilience that define paediatric oncology efforts across Africa. Beyond the science, delegates can expect a rich cultural experience and the unmistakable vibrancy of Nigeria’s commercial and creative capital.

The Local Organising Committee, led by Dr Adeseye Akinsete, is working to deliver an exceptional congress experience, while Dr Adedayo Joseph and the Scientific Committee are curating a programme that will challenge, inspire, and elevate practice. Planned sessions will spotlight African-led research, emerging priorities such as artificial intelligence in paediatric oncology, adolescents and young adults, and the lived experiences of childhood cancer survivors. Pre-congress workshops and interactive sessions will create space for meaningful dialogue and long-term collaboration.

SIOP Africa 2026 is more than a conference. It is a convergence of purpose, energy, and hope — a place to share best practice, amplify African voices, and shape the future of childhood cancer care together.

Online registration is now open and closes on 30 March 2026.
Early registration is encouraged, and delegates requiring visas are advised to apply as soon as possible.
