Due to ongoing, widespread travel and visa restrictions affecting some of SIOP’s global membership, the SIOP Board of Directors has made the intentional decision to host this year’s Annual Business Meeting in a fully online format — ensuring every member, regardless of geography or travel limitations, has an equal opportunity to participate, vote, and exercise their statutory rights.
This transition was formally approved by the membership at last year’s Annual Business Meeting, and the SIOP Constitution has been amended accordingly to explicitly permit virtual General Assemblies in compliance with Swiss association frameworks (Swiss Civil Code, Arts. 60–79).

Because the membership voted to update the organizational framework last year, this online assembly carries full legal weight — all decisions, elections, and approvals made during the session are binding under Swiss law.
