Award
The SIOP Asia Rising Star Award is a recognition-only award and does not have any financial support.
SIOP Asia is pleased to introduce the SIOP Asia Rising Star Award, a new regional initiative that highlights outstanding early‑career professionals in pediatric oncology. This award builds on the success of the global Young SIOP Rising Star Award, established in 2022, and follows the positive model implemented by SIOP Africa. It reflects the growing recognition that many emerging leaders across Asia contribute significantly to pediatric cancer care, research, and advocacy, yet cannot all be captured through a single global award.
Developed in collaboration with the Young SIOP Network, the SIOP Asia Rising Star Award aims to acknowledge individuals who have demonstrated meaningful impact in more than one key area:
- Leadership and program development
- Quality improvement and/or research
- Advocacy
- Education and mentorship
- Contributions to SIOP through participation in Networks, Working Groups, Committees, SIGs, or Continental Branch activities
Eligibility criteria:
Candidates must be current SIOP members, under 40 years old, and residing full time in a country within Asia. The award is open to all professionals working in pediatric oncology; applicants do not need to hold an MD. Each individual may receive the continental award only once, and doing so does not affect future eligibility for the global Rising Star Award.
Application
Please submit your application via the form. Deadline: April 15, 2026 (12:00 noon CEST)
The SIOP Asia Board will review and vote on submissions, with the process coordinated by the SIOP Secretariat. Late applications will not be accepted.
