Appointed vs Selected Positions

The following SC positions are appointed:

  • CCI rep, appointed by CCI Asia
  • IPSO rep, appointed by IPSO
  • PROS rep, appointed by PROS
  • Nursing rep, appointed by the SIOP Nursing Network
  • Psycho-oncology, appointed by the SIOP PPO Network
  • Supportive care, appointed by the SIOP Supportive Care Network

The following SC positions are selected by the SIOP Asia Executive Board

  • Translational/Molecular Biology

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be a SIOP member in good standing, with membership fees paid for the current calendar year (2026)
  • Reside full time in an Asian country

Term of Office

The Chair holds a 3-year term. For the inaugural Scientific Committee, the remaining selected positions will be split evenly between 2-year and 3-year terms; thereafter, all SC members serve a regular 3-year term. Positions are limited to one term only, with no extensions or second terms, to give more members across Asia the opportunity to serve in a leadership role.

Compensation

All SC positions are volunteer, unpaid roles. As a gesture of appreciation, the Congress registration fee will be waived for all SC members.
