SIOP attended the ASCO meeting, May 31 – June 4 2024 in Chicago, USA. The event highlighted scientific breakthroughs through high-impact sessions and proved to be a great opportunity to meet up with many friends and colleagues.
SIOP Member Success
Anirban Das, MD, a Young SIOP member, recieved one of the ASCO Global Oncology Young Investigator Awards on his project “Pan India Multicentric Screening of Gliomas For RRD” (mentored by Uri Tabori, MD, Sickkids, Canada). The Global Oncology Young Investigator Award (GO YIA) provides research funding to early-career investigators to encourage and promote quality research in global oncology and to develop the next generation of researchers to address global health needs.
Rejin Kebudi, SIOP Secretary General, was assigned the Chair-Elect of the ASCO-International Development and Education Award (IDEA) Steering Group. IDEA is part of ASCO- International Affairs Comittee and provides support for early-career oncologists in low- and middle-income countries and facilitates the sharing of knowledge between these oncologists and members.
