SIOP President Dr Guillermo Chantada attended the Congreso Nacional de Oncología Hematología Pediátrica in Mexico last week, organised by AMOHP (Asociación Mexicana de Onco-Hematología Pediátrica). With over 700 participants, the event is the second-largest paediatric oncology meeting in the Americas.

At the congress, Dr Chantada delivered a presentation on SIOP’s Global Mapping initiative, spotlighting the importance of robust data to support childhood cancer policy, capacity-building, and equitable access to care worldwide.

“It was an honour to present SIOP’s work in such a vibrant and committed national forum,” said Dr Chantada. “The energy and collaboration at the congress were truly inspiring.”

We extend our congratulations to Dr Suárez Villegas on his appointment as AMOHP Chair and thank Dr Chávez Gallegos for her dedication to advancing childhood cancer care in Mexico and the region.
