All Networks/WGs/Committees/Continents

Contributions to the 2024 SIOP Annual Report have been requested. Many thanks to the several Networks and WGs who already submitted their contributions!

The following Networks have been approved for project funds in 2024/2025: Nutrition, Nursing, Supportive Care, Women Leaders, and Young SIOP Networks. The SMT reviewed 7 requests for funding.

The SIOP Nutrition Network has created a playlist of 13 educational webinars on nutrition on YouTube. Playlist of educational content is possible for other Networks and Working Groups – please contact the SIOP Secretariat.

Updates on the Wonderful Work and Initiatives across the Society

  1. The SIOP Membership Committee introduced 5% discount (SAVE5NOW) for members renewing for 2 years at any category.
  2. The SIOP Epidemiology and Outcomes Network offered its first education webinar on “Pediatric Cancer Registries” on 11/28/24.
  3. The SIOP Scientific Committee opened the process to recruit new members to the Scientific Program Advisory Group (formerly known as SPAC).
  4. The SIOP Nutrition Network held an educational webinar on “Complications & Family Experiences of Gastrostomy versus Nasogastric Tube Feeding in Paediatric BMT” on 11/27/2024.
  5. The PARC Committee is reviewing 11 proposals from cooperative groups for funding.
  6. The SIOP Supportive Care Network is running elections for SG members and held an update session on 21/11/2024.
  7. The SIOP Women Leaders Network is shortlisting nominees for SG members.
  8. The SIOP Global Mapping held a session at the 2024 London Global Cancer Week titled “Every facility, every country: SIOP Global Mapping Programme” coming up on 11/13/2024.
  9. SIOP Asia is working on its Statutes Update.
  10. WHO NSA Engagement Committee has submitted a membership application for SIOP to the WHO Civil Society Commission which has been accepted. Next steps and engagement opportunities are participating in the annual general meeting and joining various working groups. SIOPE attended the WHO Europe Regional Meeting [29 – 31 October 2024] and meet with two member states Slovakia and Norway (both sitting on the current WHO EB) and started a Dialogue with Member States on new Resolution on Global Action Plan on Rare Diseases. 
  11. The SIOP Essential Medicines WG has submitted an application proposing to add temozolomide for the 2025 revision of the WHO Essential Medicines list for children. The submission has been accepted and the WG is currently reviewing the comments and feedback by WHO to finalise it.
  12. The SIOP Advocacy Committee has finalized and circulated the Advocacy Toolkit Survey to gather your insights and needs—please complete the survey.

CME On-Demand Video Access for the 2024 Annual Congresses

SIOP 2024 Congress (Hawaii) registration is still open for the On-Demand Video Recording Access with Full CME credits. Video Recording registration link is here. After Jan 31, 2025, all recordings will be available for free for SIOP members on SIOP CONNECT.
