In this SIOP Spotlight webinar, the SIOP GHN Partnerships WG will highlight collaborative research from India, a country with the largest population in the world, which is harnessing the power of numbers to its advantage and engaging in collaborative research to arrive at solutions in pediatric cancer not only for this region, but also for the world.
Dr. Amita Mahajan is a Sr Consultant on Pediatric Hematology & Oncology at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, Delhi; Board Member of the Indian Pediatric Hematology Oncology Group (INPHOG); Chairperson of the RB Subcommittee INPHOG, Former Chairperson of the HL Subcommittee INPHOG; General Secretary, Teen & Young Adult Cancer Foundation and Lead, Health Systems Strengthening Project, Cankids.
Dr. Shekhar Krishnan is physician and investigator at the Tata Medical Center (TMC) in Kolkata, eastern India. Shekhar specialises in paediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and his research is focussed on the development of equitable strategies to improve ALL outcomes. Shekhar has served as investigator in the multi-centre clinical trials of the Indian Collaborative Childhood Leukaemia (ICiCLe) group. At TMC’s Tata Translational Cancer Research Centre, Shekhar is involved in an integrated research programme focussed on developing effective, efficient and affordable strategies to advance ALL outcomes.
