We are proud to share that SIOP has been honored with the 2026 European Association Award in the category of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. The Award is administered by the European Society of Association Executives (ESAE) and is one of the top awards in association management.
This recognition highlights the impactful work of the SIOP Women Leaders Network in advancing gender equity, supporting leadership development, and fostering a more inclusive professional community. “I’m delighted that our peers have recognized the extensive work invested over the past four years—from initial concept through implementation to the ongoing innovation and growth of the Women Leaders programming,” said Tzvetomira Laub, SIOP Chief Programs Officer.
The SIOP Women Leaders Network has played a pivotal role in creating opportunities for connection, mentorship, and visibility for women across the paediatric oncology field. Through its initiatives, the Network continues to champion diverse voices and drive meaningful change within our community.
This award is a testament to the dedication, vision, and collaboration of everyone involved in this important work. We extend our sincere thanks to all members and contributors who have helped make this achievement possible. “I am so extremely proud and thankful for this European Association Award and winning the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion category- in these troubled times, it is very meaningful that SIOP would continue to push those values forward and support the voice of all women with our society and beyond” says Sarah Cohen-Gogo, Co-Chair of the SIOP Women Leaders Network. “We are grateful to the SIOP Secretariat for their support of the Women Leaders Network and recognizing the importance of developing strong leaders that represent the diversity of our profession and the patients and families we care for,” adds Liz Sniderman, Co-Chair of the SIOP Women Leaders Network.
