The European Society for Paediatric Oncology (SIOPE) has published its Summer 2026 newsletter, reconnecting with the SIOPE community after several months and rounding up a season the Society describes as filled with important milestones.
The newsletter opens with a message from SIOPE’s leadership reflecting on the organisation’s face-to-face gathering in Glasgow, United Kingdom, held in May 2026 — an event described as “unforgettable” for the community. The full president’s message, along with highlights from the Spotlight Sessions held at the SIOPE Annual Meeting in Glasgow, is included in the newsletter.
Among the project updates featured is a major milestone for the Society’s academic journal, the European Journal of Cancer – Paediatric Oncology (EJC Paediatric Oncology). The journal has received its first Journal Impact Factor, 2.0, as awarded by Clarivate in the 2026 edition of the Journal Citation Reports (JCR), released on 17 June 2026. The inaugural score is based on citations received in 2025 for articles published in 2023 and 2024.
Launched in 2023, EJC Paediatric Oncology reaches this milestone in just its third year. SIOPE thanked the journal’s authors, editors, reviewers, and the wider research community for the contributions and citations that made the achievement possible, calling it a reflection of the publication’s growing quality and influence in the field.
SIOPE closed the newsletter by thanking its community for its continued engagement and commitment to improving the lives of children and adolescents with cancer.
