The first month after a BMT represents a highly vulnerable window, during which nutrition plays a pivotal role in recovery, immune support, and management of treatment-related complications. This combined session will explore:
- The importance of nutrition during the early post‑transplant period
- Common nutritional side effects and evidence‑based management strategies
- Practical recommendations to optimize patient outcomes and wellbeing

Prof. Anca Colița, MD, PhD
Professor of Pediatrics and senior pediatric hematologist with more than 25 years of experience in pediatric hematology and oncology. Prof. Colița leads the Pediatric Clinic at the Fundeni Clinical Institute and serves at “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest. Her clinical and academic expertise focuses on pediatric acute leukemias, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, and infectious complications in immunocompromised children.
She is President of the Romanian Society of Pediatric Onco‑Hematology, an active member of SIOPE, EBMT, and EHA, and a member of the SIOP Steering Group.
