About the programme

The SIOP Spanish Language Quality Improvement (QI) Nurse Mentors’ Program launched in June 2025 to prepare Spanish-speaking nurse leaders in QI. Three teams include members from Spain, Chile, and Colombia. The Spain team presented their project in May. This CARE Education Webinar will showcase the teams in Chile and Colombia.

Chile: Reducing antibiotic administration time

The project in Chile is implementing a procedure to reduce antibiotic administration time in pediatric oncology patients with febrile neutropenia. Team members include Verónica de la Maza, Jazmín Parada, and Paola Viveros. The project is being implemented at the Hospital Dr. Luis Calvo Mackenna in Santiago, Chile.

Colombia: Standardizing central venous catheter lock therapy

The project in Colombia is standardizing central venous catheter lock therapy using 4% sodium citrate on the hematopoietic stem cell transplant unit. Team members include Mónica Lorena Quijano, Ángela Barrera, and Mónica Villalobos. The project is being implemented at the Clínica Imbanaco in Cali, Colombia.
