SIOP is pleased to welcome Dr. Kirill Kirgizov (Russia) as Co-Chair of the SIOP Supportive Care Network. His term runs from October 2026 to October 2029.

Dr. Kirgizov is Deputy Director for Science and a pediatric hematologist/oncologist at the Nikolay Blokhin National Medical Research Center, in its Lev Durnov Research Institute of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology. He leads the center’s bone marrow transplant program, serves as Executive Director of the Russian Society of Pediatric Oncologists and Hematologists, and founded the Eurasian School of Pediatric Oncologists and Hematologists.

His main interests are breakthrough technologies in BMT and cell therapy, improving healthcare systems in pediatric hematology/oncology, and strengthening supportive care for children with cancer and those undergoing BMT. He is a principal investigator in EBMT studies, a Board member of the EBMT Pediatric Diseases Working Party, and Chair of the SIOP Asia Scientific Committee. He has also worked with international organizations including the WHO and IAEA.
