The Michigan State University Global Health Institute will host a free online webinar on August 26 examining the current state of research into Cyclospora cayetanensis, a microscopic parasite that causes the foodborne illness cyclosporiasis in the United States and around the world. The session, titled "Current status of Cyclospora cayetanensis: epidemiology, diagnostics, prevention and control," will run from 9 to 10 a.m. Eastern time via Zoom. It is free to attend and open to the public through registration on the Global Health Institute's website.

Mark your calendars for a key session at this year's SIOP Annual Congress. On Wednesday, September 16, from 10:00 to 11:50 AM in Room 221, the Asian Pacific Hematology-Oncology Group (APHOG) will host a 110-minute session dedicated to advancing childhood cancer research across Asia.

We would like to continue our succesful “In the Spotlight” sessions again for the SIOP 2026 Annual Congress held in San Antonio, USA from September 15 – 18. We have a small presentation area (product theatre) available in the exhibition area during the congress and will give our various networks, committees, working groups, special interest groups and partners a platform to inform delegates about what they do, any ongoing projects and how people can get involved.

The Advocacy Committee (SAC) of the International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP) sets the strategic direction for the organization’s policy and advocacy work across regional, national, and global levels, partnering closely with the SIOP Board of Directors and key stakeholders such as the World Health Organization. Advocacy sits at the heart of SIOP’s vision—“No child should die of cancer: cure for more, care for all”—and to advance this mission, SIOP is now seeking nominations for one Advocacy Committee member to represent the Latin America region (SLAOP) in shaping its global advocacy agenda for children and adolescents with cancer.

SIOP Europe (SIOPE) and the European School of Oncology (ESO) are inviting applications for the Clinical Training Centres Paediatric Fellowship Programme, an opportunity for early-career paediatric haematologists and oncologists to complete hands-on clinical training at some of Europe's leading childhood cancer centres.
