Add your voice to the call for a legally binding Right to Be Forgotten for cancer survivors in Germany.
Cancer Patients Europe is calling on its community to sign and share an important petition advocating for a legally binding Right to Be Forgotten for cancer survivors in Germany.
Cancer survivors should not face discrimination after treatment ends. In 10 Member States, the Right to Be Forgotten is a reality. In Germany, many cancer survivors continue to face discrimination when applying for insurance, credit, and other essential services, simply because of a past diagnosis, long after treatment has ended.
The petition, launched by Tobias Burggraf, father of a young cancer survivor, urges German policymakers to ensure that, no later than five years after the end of treatment, a previous cancer diagnosis can no longer be used to deny access to insurance, credit, civil service positions, or adoption, giving survivors the same opportunities as everyone else.
With only 3 days left before the deadline, every signature matters in helping bring this issue to the attention of policymakers and onto the political agenda.
