Sincere thanks to our SIOP leaders for your hard work and dedication to SIOP and SIOP members. Please take a few minutes to see the variety of activities that has been developed and offered last month as well as a few updates and opportunities.

Updates on the Wonderful Work and Initiatives across the Society

  1. The SIOP Global Health Network held an Annual Business Meeting on 10/5/2024.
  2. SIOP ASIA invited self-nominations for SIOP Asia Board members representing the Western Pacific subregion of Asia (due Nov 15, 2024).
  3. The SIOP Membership Committee has opened the membership renewal process for calendar year 2025.
  4. The SIOP Essential Medicines WG has submitted an application proposing to add temozolomide for the 2025 revision of the WHO Essential Medicines list for children.
  5. The SIOP Scientific Committee offered an amazing Annual Congress program with in-person attendance of nearly 2,000 people and online recording access by 350 more. Many of the SIOP Networks, Committees and Working Groups held side meetings or Spotlight sessions and regular scientific sessions as part of the Congress program.
  6. The SIOP Nutrition Network held an educational webinar on “Engaging, Educating, and Empowering Childhood Cancer Survivors in Physical Activity” on 10/30/2024.
  7. The SIOP Global Mapping Program finalised their programme for their session at the 2024 London Global Cancer Week titled “Every facility, every country: SIOP Global Mapping Programme” coming up on 13 November (4-5pm GMT). Register here.
  8. WHO NSA Engagement Committee is working towards ensuring that childhood cancer is included in the 4th High level meeting on NCDs where Governments set a vision for NCDs towards 2030 & 2050 via Political Declaration. It also submitted research questions for the WHO Child Health Intervention Research Prioritization Exercise.

CME On-Demand Video Access for the 2024 Annual Congresses

SIOP 2024 Congress (Hawaii) registration is still open for the On-Demand Video Recording Access with Full CME credits. Video Recording registration link is here. After Jan 2025, all recordings will be available for free for SIOP members on SIOP CONNECT.
