Dear Pediatric Oncology Community,

I am pleased to announce our upcoming Symposium, “At the Crossroads: Intersection of Germline Predisposition and Pediatric Oncology Clinical Care and Research”, which will be held on October 14-15, 2025. I would love it if you could attend and circulate this information among your colleagues.

Registration for the symposium is now open.

This Symposium is free of charge and a virtual option is available. This interactive event is open to all clinicians, researchers, staff, and trainees with an interest in germline predisposition to cancer. The purpose of this event is to foster the exchange of ideas that will drive impactful advancements to benefit children and families at increased genetic risk for cancer.

With this Symposium, we will bring together leading experts in hereditary cancer to discuss the latest advances in the field, including investigators internal and external to St. Jude. Topics to be covered span the trajectory of care for children and young adults at increased genetic risk for cancer, including:

-Advanced Genomic Sequencing: Development and implementation of sophisticated clinical genomic sequencing approaches for diagnosing hereditary cancer predisposition syndromes.

-Precision Medicine: Use of organ-sparing surgeries, molecularly targeted therapies, and innovative radiosurgery techniques for cancer treatment in children with genetic predisposition.

-Ethical and Psychosocial Considerations: Exploration of the complex ethical and psychological dimensions surrounding germline genetic testing for hereditary cancer risk.

-Enhanced Survivorship: Development of specialized tools, genomic predictors, and transition-of-care programs to optimize long-term outcomes for young adults with cancer predisposition.

-Increasing Access: Fostering establishment of advanced practices to increase access and decrease disparities surrounding germline genetic testing for cancer predisposition.

For more details and to register, please visit the website. Please feel free to distribute this information to any colleagues or staff who might be interested in attending.

The Cancer Predisposition Symposium will convene leading experts to explore cutting-edge advancements in genetic predisposition to cancer, fostering accelerated progress in this critical area.

We look forward to your participation in this memorable event and to the initiation of new clinical and research collaborations.
