The World Health Organization (WHO) is inviting people affected by cancer to contribute their lived experiences to the upcoming Global Status Report on Cancer 2026.

Over the past year, WHO has been working to strengthen the evidence supporting the inclusion of lived experience in cancer policy making, programme design, and implementation. This work builds on the Statement of Priorities for People Affected by Cancer, developed with contributions from patients, survivors, caregivers, advocates, and healthcare professionals worldwide.

WHO is now seeking personal stories and testimonials to complement the data and evidence presented in the report. Contributions will help bring attention to the realities faced by people affected by cancer and ensure the report reflects a truly people-centred perspective.

The call focuses on 15 key issues affecting people living with and beyond cancer, including access to vaccines and screening, treatment abandonment, supportive care, survivorship, caregiving, rural and urban inequities, disability, financial hardship, and the emotional and psychological impact of cancer.

WHO welcomes stories from patients, survivors, caregivers, families, and advocates across all regions and settings. Selected contributions may be featured in the report, with contributors acknowledged accordingly.

The questionnaire can be completed in multiple languages using Google Translate and WHO encourages participants to complete it in one sitting where possible.
