Dear Members of the SIOP Women Leaders Network,

We are writing to update you on the recent election results.

Congratulations to Liz Sniderman, MPH MSN NP CPHON, on being elected Steering Group member of the SIOP Women Leaders Network. Liz Sniderman has been a pediatric oncology nurse since 2009. She obtained her Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania in 2015, and worked as a nurse practitioner with the solid tumor team at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago from 2016-2018. Liz then worked at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as the Global Nursing Project Coordinator and as a nurse practitioner with the Hospitalist program until November 2021. Liz recently obtained a Masters of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University in December 2023. She has served as the co-chair of the Global Health Nursing working group of the International Society for Paediatric Oncology (SIOP) and currently serves on the SIOP Education and Training Network and the APHON Continuing Education committee. Liz is currently working as a pediatric oncology nurse practitioner at the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton, Canada and as a consultant for the ARIA Guide and EURO Regional Programs at St. Jude Global.

Congratulations to Arliette Sulikhanyan, BS MPH, on being selected Steering Group member and YSN representative to the SIOP Women Leaders Network. Arliette received her BS in Anthropology and Biology from UCLA in 2021, an MPH in Epidemiology from UC Davis in 2022, and completed the Cal-EIS Research Fellowship at the California Department of Public Health in 2023. As a first-generation child of refugees, Arliette has had formative experiences in the world of upper education in her exploration of medicine, anti-racism, global health, and STEM inequity. In an ode to her parents’ motherland, she helped to create the Armenian Cancer Registry and do a preliminary epidemiological assessment of the burden of Pediatric Leukemia in the nation. As a young Middle Eastern woman and budding health professional, she aims to pursue her medical education in Hematology/Oncology while opening doors for other young women in the global health sphere. Arliette is eager to contribute her energy, fresh ideas, and collaborative spirit to help strengthen the connections among young professionals within SIOP and the broader community. She looks forward to serving in this role and contributing to the continued success and growth of both SIOP and the Women Leaders Network.
