Dear SIOP Asia Members,

Please note a few opportunities for leadership and engagement at SIOP Asia.

SIOP ASIA SUB-REGIONAL LEADER SELF-NOMINATIONS

At the last SIOP Asia Annual General Meeting, SIOP Asia decided to create a SIOP Asia Board, which consists of leaders of 4 subregional groups:

  • Western Pacific (WPRO) Subregion, representing Japan, South Korea, Mongolia, China, Taiwan, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei

  • European (EURO) Subregion, representing Armenia, Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Israel

We invite you to self-nominate yourself for one of these 4 positions. Nominations will be reviewed by a special SIOP Asia Review Committee, consisting of the past, current and future SIOP Asia Presidents, and appointed by the SIOP Asia Continental President for a term of 3 years, beginning in Nov 2024. Subregional leaders are members of the SIOP Asia Board, but not members of the SIOP Board of Directors.

The Subregional leaders are expected to support the SIOP Asia Continental President in developing and enhancing SIOP Asia activities (programs, Annual Congress) and collaborate with partners for advocacy and policy-development work (e.g. CCI Asia, WHO GICC ) on issues related to children and adolescents with cancer. A time commitment of 5 hours/month is expected.
