Dear SIOP Members,
As a leading global voice in paediatric oncology, the International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP) is seeking to ensure our community is strongly represented within the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) leadership for the upcoming 2026-2028 term.
We invite SIOP members to submit their interest for nomination to the UICC Board of Directors or for the position of President-elect.
The Opportunity
The UICC Board of Directors (14 members and a President-elect) provides the strategic vision to unite the global cancer community. Successful SIOP nominees will act as vital advocates, ensuring that paediatric cancer control remains a top priority on the world health agenda.
Submission Requirements
Interested candidates are invited to submit their expression of interest to the SIOP Office. To be considered for a SIOP-endorsed nomination, please provide:

Motivation Letter: Outlining your vision for UICC and how you intend to represent the paediatric oncology community.

Comprehensive CV: Highlighting your professional journey.

Evidence of Seniority & Leadership: Detailed experience serving on the boards of large, international, or complex organizations.

Proof of Network: A brief statement or evidence of being “well-connected,” demonstrating your ability to leverage global professional networks and partnerships to further UICC’s and SIOP’s mission.

Key Selection Criteria
UICC is looking for outstanding individuals who reflect the diversity of the global cancer community. Nominees should be prepared to provide strategic direction, promote equity in cancer care, and engage with stakeholders at the World Cancer Congress in Hong Kong (September 2026) prior to the virtual General Assembly on October 20, 2026.
