In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the My Child Matters (MCM) programme, Foundation S will be highlighting the inspiring stories of caregiver-patient relationships for those who have overcome childhood cancer with MCM’s support. These ‘caregiver’ stories include healthcare professionals, nurses, parents, or any adult taking care of the child.

Through a dedicated social media campaign featuring images and videos shared on the Foundation S channels, Foundation S will showcase these remarkable relationships and journeys – and would be honored to include a relationship that matters to you.

If you are open to being a part of this impactful campaign, Foundation S kindly request your participation by providing the following materials:

Photos (mandatory):

Photography ideally to be high resolution

  • 1x photo of you and a patient that you helped/supported during their diagnosis or treatment.
  • 4/5x (or more) additional photos of either you, and/or the patient you supported, from the time of their treatment up until the present day, in an environment relating to MCM’s project, for example: (if applicable):
    • At the hospital/treatment center
    • Outside or at home
    • With nurses
    • With friends & family

Information (mandatory):

  • A topline history of your relationship with the patient (e.g. I met X in 2012)
  • A topline history of their journey with cancer (e.g. diagnosed in 2012, treated in X, recovery process included XYZ…).
  • How did you and/or the MCM program support the patient (and others) through their cancer journey?

This can be short sentences or bullet points.

Additional Information (optional):

  • A few words on your experience of being a caregiver to a child battling cancer, and how you’d sum up the journey
  • Are there any special anecdotes from your time together?
  • Do you have any advice or words of support for children currently living with cancer?
  • Do you have any stories about the patient’s achievements since recovery (e.g., career, family, experiences)?

Video (optional):

  • A 30-60-second video summarizing your journey with the patient and the role of MCM in their journey
  • Suggested prompts:
    • Can you tell us the story of your relationship with the patient?
    • How did MCM support you and then during the journey?

Your stories demonstrate the impact of My Child Matters, creating a powerful narrative of hope and resilience that will shape the program’s future success.

Please send the requested materials to FSsocial@freuds.com by May 20th.

Thank you for your participation in this meaningful campaign.
