At yesterday’s Business Meeting, SIOP Asia considered and approved a proposal to alternate the hosting of SIOP Asia Congresses between Eastern Asia Region and Western Asia Region as per the following schedule:

          • 2022 Congress (Virtual) = hosted by China (Eastern Asia Region)
          • 2023 Congress (Hybrid) = hosted by Armenia (Western Asia Region)
          • 2024 Congress (In person) = hosted by Japan (Eastern Asia Region)
          • 2025 Congress (In person) = hosted by tbd (Western Asia Region)
          • 2026 Congress (In person) = hosted by tbd (Eastern Asia Region)
          • 2027 Congress (In person) = hosted by tbd (Western Asia Region)
          • And so forth until further decision

Countries are divided between the 2 regions as follows:

EASTERN ASIA REGION

Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, China (HK, Macao), India, Indonesia, Japan, Lao, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, North Korea, Phillippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Timor-Leste, VietNam

WESTERN ASIA REGION

Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, UAE, Uzbekistan, Yemen
