2024 SIOP Congress Nursing Program

 We are excited to announce the 2024 SIOP Congress Nursing Program and hope that you will be able to attend. The SIOP Nursing Network Program Working Group has planned a great program in Honolulu, Hawaii on October 17-20, 2024. This Working Group develops and implements the pre-congress nursing education day and nursing scientific program for the annual SIOP congress.

 Oral Abstract Sessions: Oral abstract presentations will occur throughout the program.

Top abstract from each nursing category: Research, Education, Quality Improvement and Baseline Standards will be highlighted.

Poster Walk: Participants will have the opportunity to view posters together and 5 posters and short presentations from the author will be given at the poster.

 

We are pleased to introduce you to the 2024 SIOP Nursing Program Working Group Members:

Marilyn Hockenberry, Working Group Chair.  Dr. Hockenberry is Professor of Paediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine and Director of Global HOPE Nursing. She is part of the SIOP Nursing Network Steering Group and member of the SIOP Scientific Committee.

 

 

 

 Yan Yin Lim, Member. Ms. Lim is a senior nurse manager overseeing the paediatric inpatient units at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Singapore. She is past member of SIOP Nursing NetworkSteering Group and the Co-chair for the educational day.

 

 

Lindsay Jibb, Member.  Dr. Jibb is a Scientist at the Hospital for Sick Children and an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. She is a Certified Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurse.

 

 

 

Joan Nakabiri, Member. Ms. Nakabiri is a nurse trainer with Global HOPE, Uganda, Mulago National Referral Hospital. She has had extensive training in peadiatric haematology oncology nursing.

 

 

 

 Remziye Semerci, Member. Dr. Semerci is Assistant Professor of Pediatrics Nursing at Koç University, School of Nursing in İstanbul Turkey. She is a member of the European Oncology Nursing Society Communication and Young Cancer Nurse Working Group.

 

 

 

Renske Karens, Member. Ms. Karens is a Registered Nurse and Chief Nursing Innovation Officer at the Prinses Maxima Center, with a background in leading nursing innovation programs and spearheading advancements in oncological care.

 

 

 

Dee Ann Omatsu, Member. Ms. Omatsu is experienced in both pediatric and adult oncology, certified as a pediatric and adult geriatric nurse practitioner. She has recently transitioned to the adult side working as the clinical oncology educator and inpatient oncology NP. Dee Ann serves as the Local Organizing Committee nurse liaison and member of the SIOP Nursing Network Steering Group.
