SIOP Oceania is seeking interested Advanced Trainee/s in Paediatric Oncology to join the SIOP Oceania Advisory Board as a Trainee Representative. The SIOP Oceania Continental Branch (‘SIOP Oceania’) is one of six continental branches of SIOP, representing SIOP members who reside in Oceania countries, including but not limited to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Samoa, Tonga, Solomon Islands, Micronesia, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Palau, Tuvalu and Nauru. SIOP Oceania aims to improve and disseminate knowledge about childhood cancer, and its management, across Oceania.

The responsibilities of the Advisory Board include supporting the work of SIOP Oceania, particularly by attending meetings of the Advisory Board (via quarterly videoconferences), contributing strategic advice and guidance on the work of SIOP Oceania, and assisting with educational endeavours in the region. The remit of the Advisory Board is advisory in nature only.

Advisory Board members may be trained in any relevant health-related discipline (e.g. medicine, nursing, allied health, academic roles). The Trainee Representative will initially serve a 12-month term, with potential for renewal at the invitation of the Continental President and/or the SIOP Oceania Chair of the Education and Training Committee. There will be no set tasks for the Trainee Representative, however there will be opportunities to contribute to the activities of SIOP Oceania as appropriate (e.g. supporting development of online training programs, opportunities for in-country educational activities, clinical contributions via multi-disciplinary team meetings and chemotherapy protocol revision).
